Mitch McConnell Tuesday, 11-6-12, after President Obama wins re-election

“The voters have not endorsed the failures or excesses of the president’s first term, they have simply given him more time to finish the job they asked him to do together with a Congress that restored balance to Washington after two years of one-party control,” the minority leader said in a statement. “Now it’s time for the president to propose solutions that actually have a chance of passing the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and a closely-divided Senate, step up to the plate on the challenges of the moment, and deliver in a way that he did not in his first four years in office.”

Wayne Powell takes a PADDLE to this Cretin Eric Cantor

Full debate here. So sad for the loss, Wayne Powell. Maybe by 2014, Virginians will come to their senses.

DAVID FRUM- He must have known Romney was going to lose. He was busy typing up an E-BOOK!

SOUTHERNGIRL2: “Mitch McConnell, the American people are not going to put up with your obstruction and shenanigans. A clear mandate was sent on election night with the re-election of President Obama. It is a disgrace, UnAmerican, & UNPATRIOTIC to hold the country hostage with your shenanigan BULLSHIT. President Obama won in a landslide victory with 332 electoral votes. We expect you to recognize it! And one thing you should learn…when the President of the United States makes a phone call to you…get your ASS out of the bed and answer the DAMN phone.”

RIKYRAH:

When I heard that Turtle Lips and Orange Julius didn’t return the phone call OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, all I could think of was two things:

1. Here we go again.
2. A hard head makes a soft behind.

These two are still under the delusion that they are relevant to the equation, and that the President even has to pretend anymore to make nice with them.

That ended Tuesday.

I wanna know how come nobody has asked Turtle Lips what he intends to do now, since he FAILED in his goal of making President Obama a ‘ONE TERM PRESIDENT’.

We were in the midst of the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression, and his main goal wasn’t to put Americans back to work…it was to ensure that the President of the United States only had ONE TERM.

But, we all know that Turtle Lips FAILED.

Not only did he fail in that, but in the greatest chance a party’s had to take over the Senate, he’s failed TWICE – in 2010 and now 2012.

They don’t know that the President, having won re-election, is free of the pretense to make nice with cretins who have done nothing but continuously disrespect him.

The President ran on a platform of raising taxes on those that can most afford it. He didn’t hide it. He didn’t lie about it, unlike the GOP did with their entire platform during this election..

SO, as he won by a landslide – 332 electoral votes, bitches!

That means the American people voted for what the President wants to do for this country.

The bogus ‘ FISCAL CLIFF’ – is nothing but the newest bright shiny object for the MSM. I guarantee you that if Willard Romney had won, they wouldn’t be talking shyt about the ‘ FISCAL CLIFF’. The fraud that is the ‘ FISCAL CLIFF’ is manufactured crisis by the MSM.
Here are the facts.

The President doesn’t need to do ANYTHING.

Nothing.

Let the tax cuts expire for everyone, and then put forth to the Republicans that the ball is in their court, and let them fight until the death for tax cuts for rich people above all else.

The cuts in spending would most severely affect the Defense Department, but guess what – these are the CUTS that the GOP VOTED ON.

Remember Orange Julius coming out and saying that he had gotten 98% of what he wanted?

These Defense Department cuts were part of that deal?

But, ever since reality set in that the Democrats weren’t going to go back on this deal, the GOP has been scrambling like crazy, going into Congressional Districts heavy with Defense Department contractors, and threatening folks, denying, like Paul Ryan did, that they were the same mofos that VOTED ON THE CUTS.

They’ve been running away in a panic, ever since it dawned on them that the Democrats and the President aren’t playing with them. A President Romney was their only hope, because the Ryan budget gave 2 TRILLION DOLLARS MORE to the Defense Department – THAT THEY DIDN’T EVEN ASK FOR.

But, there will be no President Romney, and they’re in full throttle panic.

Turtle Lips continues to be in panic too – he’s up for re-election in 2014. He’s skurred that he’ll be primaried by some insane Tea Partier.

There are rumblings that Ashley Judd might run for the Senate on the Democratic Party’s side. I know it’s Kentucky, but there’s part of me that would love for Turtle Lips to be forced to debate a smart, intelligent, take no prisoners woman, who is Southern in every way, and knows how to shiv with a Southern lilt in her voice.

As for Orange Julius, you know he always has to worry about that knife that Eric Cantor carries in his hand at all times. But, here’s the thing, they have no cards. None. Trying to be too smart by half, it was the GOP that put a time limit on the tax cuts, and their time is up.

Karma remains undefeated.

Time and again, the RIGHT & the LEFT refuse to learn the TRUTH about this PRESIDENT.  Senate passed the fiscal cliff deal 89-8 early this morning. The House will convene at noon today and Boehner will adddress the fiscal cliff deal at 1 p.m.

Happy New Year Republicans, Obama Just Cleaned Your Clock on the Fiscal Cliff
By: Jason Easley Jan. 1st, 2013

Some on the left are already griping that the White House gave up too much by raising the income limit on the Bush tax cuts to $400,000-450,000, but here is what the president got in return for his minor concession:

– A permanent rise in tax rates to the Clinton era levels for all individuals making over $400,000 a year.

– A return to the Clinton era rates on capital gains.

– The Estate Tax will be set at 40% for those at $400,000 threshold with a $5 million exemption.

– A 5 year extension of the Earned Income Tax Credit, the Child Tax Credit, and the American Opportunity Tax Credit for low income Americans.

– All Obama small business tax breaks extended for another year.

– A full year extension of unemployment benefits.

– A nine month Farm Bill.

– A permanent patch for the Alternative Minimum tax.

See how the President’s game is ALL about the LONG TERM GAINS?  Look who the WINNERS are.

FULL TEXT OF THE 157 PAGE BILL TO AVERT THE FISCAL CLIFF

UPDATE:

John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy

A spokesman for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) pushed back Tuesday afternoon against the suggestion that by coming out against the “fiscal cliff” deal passed by the Senate, the congressman was undercutting House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

The majority leader himself added, “Speaker Boehner and I are working with House Leadership and our conference to find best path forward.” Boehner and Cantor walked into a House GOP meeting together at 5:20 p.m. but made no comments to reporters.

Cantor’s opposition is likely to doom the chances for fast House passage of the legislation without changes, which could prolong efforts to avert the automatic tax increases and spending cuts that technically took effect on Tuesday.

Moments earlier, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) wouldn’t say when a vote might be held. “I think it’s important that people read the bill,” he said.

Does Bill Clinton have his eye on Alison Lundergan Grimes for the U.S. Senate race in Kentucky? Although Ashley Judd has been weighing a campaign, the former President reportedly urged Grimes to jump in the race

MOVE OVER? Do the Clintons really think Ashley Judd should just roll over and go away? Ask Barack Obama how that worked for him. LOL

FRANKFORT — Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes

I think the majority of folks in our 3 Chics community will agree, Mitch McTurtle McConnell must GO.

Mitch McConnell

Ever since Ashley Judd came onto the scene with musings of running for Senator of Kentucky, we’ve been rooting for her to RUN. No doubt, McTurtle been feeling the heat, because, Ashley hasn’t announced she’s running and McTurtle’s already started his smear campaign against her.

Imagine my shock reading this headline this morning.  /NOT!

In Kentucky, prominent Democrats wooing Alison Lundergan Grimes, not Ashley Judd

Seriously? Prominent Democrats? It’s the Clinton Machine REDUX!

<Snip>

Democratic heavy hitters — including Bill Clinton — are quietly trying to woo a new candidate to jump into the race to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, even as actress Ashley Judd is taking steps toward launching a star-studded campaign of her own.

With fears growing in some Democratic quarters over Judd’s potential candidacy, some prominent Democrats in the Bluegrass State are beginning to set their sights on 34-year-old Alison Lundergan Grimes, the Kentucky secretary of state. Among Grimes’s attributes: She lacks political baggage since she’s served barely a year in office, and she hails from a well-connected family influential in Kentucky Democratic politics. But it’s not at all certain if she’ll jump into the race.

Looking for other sources reporting on this scoop. Giving a side-eye to Politico.

You can do it, Ashley. Don’t fall for the old, “you’re not a resident of Kentucky” BS. Hillary Clinton moved to NY, established residency, ran for the senate, and she won. Don’t fall for you’re an actress and you have too much baggage. Ronald Reagan was an actor, he ran for POTUS, and he won. And don’t even get me started on coming in with “BAGGAGE.”

You’ve got something mighty special for McTurtle and nem to come after you, before you’ve even announced your bid for senate. And for the Clinton’s attempts to THROW YOU UNDER THE BUS for their hand-picked choice, I’d say RUN ASHLEY, RUN. Just like Barack Hussein Obama, Don’t be threatened by the Clinton MACHINE  supposed power & $$, Or do they owe Grimes a favor?

I’ll wait for Ashley to announce, even with the rumors of her annoucing at the Kentucky Derby event in May.

Give it up, Bill and Hillary Clinton. We’re not voting for Hillary in 2016;  at least, not me.

SG2 here:

I’m not voting for Hillary either. Just because a D is behind your name does not mean you automatically get my vote. No more Bushes and Clintons. Time for the old guard to stand down. We have had enough.

“So in the House and Senate, we own the budget. So what does that mean? That means that we can pass the spending bill. And I assure you that in the spending bill, we will be pushing back against this bureaucracy by doing what’s called placing riders in the bill. No money can be spent to do this or to do that. We’re going to go after them on health care, on financial services, on the Environmental Protection Agency, across the board. … All across the federal government, we’re going to go after it.

Wednesday Open Thread | Biden: McConnell stopped Obama from calling out Russians

Former Vice President Joe Biden blamed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for refusing to sign a bipartisan statement condemning Russia’s interference in the run-up to the 2016 presidential elections.

Biden, speaking at an event hosted by the Council of Foreign Relations on Tuesday, said he and former President Barack Obama worried that speaking out about the meddling before Nov. 9, 2016, would inevitably look like a politically motivated effort to tip the elections, Politico reported.

They approached McConnell with the idea of issuing a bipartisan statement, but the senator “wanted no part” in it, according to Biden, who has repeatedly floated the possibility of a 2020 presidential bid.

A spokesperson for McConnell defended the senate majority leader and pointed to a letter he signed in September 2016 along with the three other congressional leaders, Politico reported.

But the letter to the president of the National Association of State Election Directors simply urged states to bolster their voting systems from cyberattacks, and did not include any mentions of Russia.

Evidence of Russia’s role in the Democratic National Committee hack began mounting in the summer of 2016, and senators who received intelligence briefings urged Obama to declassify reports surrounding the stolen emails.

One month before the elections, intelligence officials under the Obama administration issued a statement blaming the Russian government for undermining the U.S. electoral system.

But it wasn’t until after President Trump’s victory that a CIA report revealed Russia was acting in the interests of the Republican candidate.

Obama came under fire for not acting sooner, and Biden called it a “constant tightrope” on Tuesday.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN?

Mitch McConnell has been PERSONA NON GRATA.

Mitch McConnell Owns the Government Shutdown, Too

Donald Trump said he’d be “proud” to close the federal government over the wall. But this debacle is still dragging on because Mitch McConnell is unwilling or unable to do his job.

SNIP:

On the rare occasions he has been asked about this sudden bout of amnesia, McConnell has argued that as Senate majority leader, his hands are tied. “The Senate will not waste its time,” he explained on January 2, with a bill that “the President will not sign.” Two days later, from the Senate floor, he added: “Making laws takes a presidential signature. We all learned that in grade school.

****

Well, McTurtle, you never put the legislation before the 45, to give him an opportunity to VETO or SIGN IT. Reneging on his responsibilities while collecting a salary from our hard earned MONEY!

Feel free to drop any SIGHTINGS or GRUMBLINGS from McTurtle in the comments.

DON’T COUNT ON THE MEDIA TO DO ANY REPORTING ON THE GOP MAJORITY LEADER MIA. He hangs out in the chambers on C-SPAN talking to a camera and an empty chamber.

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT:

Tuesday Open Thread | Mitch McConnell is as much a threat to this country as Dolt45

$

Because, he’s a TRAITOR.
Plain and simple.

Never forget…during the 2016 Election Cycle, when President Obama was first alerted at the attempts of the Russians to interfere, he wanted to make a bi-partisan statement, informing the American people of what was happening, and that, AS AMERICANS, both Democrat and Republicans were standing up against this threat from Russia. He did not…BECAUSE MCCONNELL WOULDN’T GO ALONG WITH IT.

The man is a TRAITOR to this country. Can’t be surprising, since, on the night of Barack Obama’s Inauguration, in the midst of the greatest economic downturn this country had seen since The Great Depression, he met with other GOPers to form a plan to block anything that President Obama would present. No matter how it would help the country. He chose ECONOMIC TREASON against this country in 2009. And, ACTUAL TREASON against it in 2016.

New Election Security Bills Face a One-Man Roadblock: Mitch McConnell
By Nicholas Fandos
· June 7, 2019

WASHINGTON — A raft of legislation intended to better secure United States election systems after what the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, called a “sweeping and systematic” Russian attack in 2016 is running into a one-man roadblock in the form of the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
The bills include a Democratic measure that would send more than $1 billion to state and local governments to tighten election security, but would also demand a national strategy to protect American democratic institutions against cyberattacks and require that states spend federal funds only on federally certified “election infrastructure vendors.” A bipartisan measure in both chambers would require internet companies like Facebook to disclose the purchasers of political ads.

Another bipartisan Senate proposal would codify cyberinformation-sharing initiatives between federal intelligence services and state election officials, speed up the granting of security clearances to state officials and provide federal incentives for states to adopt paper ballots.
But even bipartisan coalitions have begun to crumble in the face of the majority leader’s blockade. Mr. McConnell, long the Senate’s leading ideological opponent to federal regulation of elections, has told colleagues in recent months that he has no plans to consider stand-alone legislation on the matter this term, despite clamoring from members of his own conference and the growing pressure from Democrats who also sense a political advantage in trying to make the Republican response to Russia’s election attack look anemic.
